No fewer than 1,005 communities have submitted their inputs for the 2020 budget in Jigawa State.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of Civil Societies “Project Monitoring Partners “ (PMP), Comrade Isa Mustapha while submitting the inputs yesterday during a one day town hall meeting organised by State Directors for Budget and Economic Planing to generating citizen inputs for the preparation of the budget.
He explained that, they divided Jigawa in to 30 chapters and generated inputs from 1,005 communities after interviewing over 1,784 both male and female across aged group , education level and social status.
The chairman said they embarked on the project aims at Improve citizens participation and strengthen their ownership for state budget.
Speaking at the occasion the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Adamu Muhammad Garingabas said, the town hall meeting was organized as part of their strategy to ensure they produce all inclusive budget.
The PS promised to give full consideration to all contribution and inputs submitted in written or verbally according to priority and available resources.
During the event, the representative of the state Ministry of Education also submitted the need for construction of additional classrooms and establishing new schools across all 27 local government areas in the state to carter for the increase of the school enrollment caused by Home Grown School Feeding policy.
Others who submitted their inputs include: representative of various government agencies, Community Sector Partnership, Initiatives For Women Health, Residential Women Business Association, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, JIMEF, Sankara Community Association Among others.
