Mandate Secretary of FCT Area Councils Services Secretariat (ACSS), Mallam Adamu Abubakar Bappah has promised to resolve myriad of challenges facing the Abuja chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE).
Bappah made this assertion when he received leadership of NULGE on a courtesy visit to his office, in Area 11.
He said the Administration will work hand in hand with the Union that he has gone round to the Area Councils and heard some of their challenges concerning the issue of their pension of which some of the retiree have no access to.
He added that the Secretariat will work hand in hand with the Area Council Service Commission to make sure they put smile on the faces of the retirees.
Bappah however disclosed that a monitoring committee would be setup in all Area Councils to ensure that all payment are made to the designated councils.
The Secretary noted that a Tabulated Template for payment has been made to ease the payment process to various councils, and by the end of December it will all be sorted out.
He also assured the NULGE president that he will not sit down and watch the officials and staffs rundown the Area Councils.
In his remarks, the President of the FCT NULGE, Abubakar Yakubu thanked the ACSS for accepting to receive them and assurance to ameliorate their plight, adding that their November salary has not yet been paid to them, and they are also been owed pension arrears.
He noted that though problems facing local government employees in FCT did not start today, but with proper management and good governance they can be resolved.
He therefore expressed optimism, as the Secretary has gone round all the Area Councils, and is now aware of the problems they are facing.
