As part of his drive to promote youth empowerment in the country, the Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio has launched an empowerment programme in Gombe state, North East Nigeria.
While launching the empowerment scheme, National Coordinator, Senator Godswill Akpabio for Common Good, Dr. Jibril Tafida said the Programme is to meaningfully engage youths in the state to contribute their quota to national growth and development.
“The other objective of this empowerment programme is to cushion the effects of the current hardship, targeting 16,000 youths across Nigeria. Our priority is empowerment because we know our youths need institutional push to achieve their full potentials.
“We believe in young people as strong pillar of democratic institutions and national development. That is the same philosophy that compelled me to be here with you today. Let us also not forget, that a similar program was launched in the North-West and we are going to North-Central next month to launch another phase of the programme. It is this kind of continuity that brings about development in our society.”
