The All Progressives Congress (APC) said yesterday that it would conduct local government congress on in Bauchi state tomorrow.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi, Alhaji Bappa Tafida, the spokesman of the party, said arrangements had been concluded to hold the congress.
He said that materials for the exercise were available, adding that the party has been sensitising party members through the state-owned media.
According to him, the congress will take place in all the 20 local government areas of the state.
“The local government congress will commence tomorrow (Wednesday) and arrangements have already been made.
“The exercise will commence in all the local government areas of the state and we have been publicising the date on state media for people to know,” he said.
Tafida added that the congress would be supervised by Dr Almajiri Geidam, who was sent from the party headquarters in Abuja to oversee the ward congress that took place earlier.
He assured that complaints arising from the conduct of the ward congress would be resolved and urged aggrieved members to remain law abiding.
NAN reports that the party is facing some internal challenges in the state, which recently led to the burning of one of its offices in Bauchi. (NAN)
