The All Progressive Congress (APC) yesterday said it had concluded arrangements to hold its maiden congress in 283 wards in Kogi on April 5.
The APC Interim Chairman, Alhaji Kassim Mabo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja said that all registered members of the party in all the wards participated in the congress to elect the ward executive members of the party.
Mabo said that there were 27 positions to be filled, saying that the party had directed t hat at least three women must be among those to be elected as ward executives.
He said that adequate arrangements had been made with the police and civil defence to provide adequate security for electoral officials and members of the party that would participate in the congresses.
Mabo promised that a level playing field would be created for all contestants, saying that the leadership of the party had put in place measures to prevent imposition of candidates.
The chairman said that the leadership crisis rocking the state chapter of the party had been amicably resolved, explaining that all stakeholders had decided to stay together under his leadership. (NAN)
