A multitude of people loyal to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) yesterday invaded the Dutse Municipal Local Government secretariat, a PDP controlled local council in Jigawa state ostensibly to cheer their single Councillor who was being sworn-in.
The PDP had ten of the eleven elected Councillors in Dutse Municipal Local Government in the recently conducted local government election I’m Jigawa state.
Our reporter at the venue of the swearing ceremony gathered that the APC members who wore red caps enbroided with the sign of broomsticks adorned APC flag and brooms and made a show at the event.
When contacted the APC Dutse local government Interim Secretary, Malam Gambo Dayyanu said, “this is a small number of our members; we were informed of the swearing-in last night, so we managed to mobilise this small crowd”.
Speaking after the swearing-in of the councillors, the council Chairman, Alhaji Sunusi Abdulaziz Dankofa, promised to carry all the councillors along irrespective of their political parties, he also called the councillors to discharge their duties with the fear of The chairman also urged them to always consider their people’s interest and party manifestos to move the local government forward.
