From Mustapha Adamu, Kano
The All Progressive Congress (APC), Sharada Ward in Municipal Local Government Area of Kano state has suspended a former media aide to President Muhammad Buhari on broadcast media, Sha’aban Sharada.
In a statement signed by the ward’s APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Sharada and made available to newsmen in Kano yesterday, the party said it has suspended Sharada over alleged anti-party affairs and political high handedness in the state.
According to the statement, Sharada, who is the Chairman House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, has been completely banned from involving in the affairs of the APC at the ward level or to relate with members of the party for the periode of one year.
The statement added that the APC in Sharada ward had received series of complaints brought before the party by aggrieved members over Sharada’s alleged high handedness .
“The APC has been receiving complaints from different quarters about Sha’aban Sharada. After conducting a series of meetings, held by the APC executives in the ward, it has been resolved that he be suspended from the party,” the statement reads in parts.
PEOPLES DAILY recalls that Sharada has been at logger heads with the Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and other top party echelons.
The embattled lawmaker had recently alleged that the party had refused to register him during the APC’s registration and revalidation exercise at his ward in order to truncate his future political ambition.
All effort to reach Sharada was not successful as he did not pick up the call placed to by our correspondent, nor did he reply the text message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
