An Upper Area court in Karu, Abuja have granted bail to one Ohia Princewill, 32, a travel agent, of Banex Plaza, standing trial for alleged breach of trust and cheating.
The Presiding Judge, Mr. Umar Kagarko, granted the bail in the sum of N200, 000 with a surety in like sum who must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
The Prosecutor, Mr. Israel Norgu, had told the court that one Courage Obasolan, of Kado village, Abuja, came to the Apo police station on February 20 to report the accused.
Norgu said the complainant gave the sum of N 543, 000 to the accused for him to secure a 2-year work permit visa in Dubai for the complainant.
He said that after the accused had collected the money from the Obasolan, he did not secure the visa and he refused to return the money.
“The offence contravenes sections 312 and 322 of the Penal code, respectively,’’ Norgu said.
Kagarko adjourned the case till March 24 for proper hearing.
