The International Aviation College, Ilorin, yesterday canvassed for sustained partnership with other aviation institutions in the West African sub-region.
The Rector of the College, Capt. AbdulkareemElelu, told newsmen in Ilorin that such collaboration would ensure quality training for students.
Elelu said the college had been providing qualified manpower for the country’s aviation sector.
He said the state government’s investment in the sector was unparalleled and called for improved public-private partnership to develop a robust aviation industry.
The former Chief Flight Instructor at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, however, expressed concern at what he called over dependence on foreign pilots.
Elelu also called for better capacity building for Nigerian youths in the aviation sector.
He said the college, which had graduated eight pilots, would also churn out another set next month.
Elelu further said the college was collaborating with the Kwara State University to give its students additional degree qualifications. (NAN)
