Bafai Gora, the home town of late Senator Isaiah Balat is recording influx of sons and daughters of the town since the demise of their son, last Tuesday at the National Hospital, Abuja. He died at the age of 62 after a brief illness.
The quiet town located in the Zango Kataf Local Government area of Kaduna State came alive with people in mourning mood.
A son of the town, Mr. Elias Gora who was the former secretary of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) who spoke to reporters in Bafai Gora said, sons and daughters of the town are rushing back to the town to prepare for a befitting burial for “our fallen hero”.
According to him, Late Senator Isaiah Balat is a broad minded person who brought not only people from his home town together, but the whole Kaduna State in peace and unity without discord right from his youthful days as a student, businessman and politician.
All commercial hotels in Bafai Gora and neighborhood have been fully booked by people who want to witness the burial.
The chairman of the burial planning committee, Dr John Ayuba, said the committee is putting everything together to ensure their son is given a befitting burial.
Meanwhile, the National Association of Kaduna State Students (NAKASS) had, in a statement by Ajetu Aliyu David commiserated with Kaduna State governor, Dr Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and the people of Kaduna State over the sudden of Senator Isaiah Balat.
