The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Alhaji Abubakar Y. Suleiman has pledged to help Women in all the 20 local government areas of the State to get positions in government.
Suleiman made the pledge when he received Women Coalition for Sustainable Peace and Viable Democratic against in Bauchi State, He said Women are the tools for the success of every they are pillars in every election that help a candidate to succeed in every election, I heard your request for more positions in the government I will discuss with the Governor to see how more women will be included in the nest appointments.
Speaker assures them that his door is always open to them and pledge to support all of their programmes in the best interest of the State.
leader pf the group Hajiya Addaji Mohammed told the speaker that the group is an umbrella of various women groups from the grass root across all the 20 local government areas of the State who worked hard by enlightening the rural and urban women to register and participated in election of credible candidates in the last election.
She said as agitators of success of democratic government they always alert public and government on the best way to achieve sustainable peace and get viable democratic gains through participation and supporting all government laudable programmes aimed at developing the society.
She congratulated the State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the Speaker for resolving the leadership problems caused by 17 lawmakers amicably and for the good administration of the State.
She said “since softened their positions and the Assembly is now a single entity with the swearing in of the remaining members of the House, This is what is expected of any well meaning Bauchi indigene to sheath their swords and face the onerous task of state building, we sincerely praise the efforts of the Honorable members for agreeing to set aside their differences and build a formidable team for the benefit, of the state. This indicates that the members are more concerned about the success, development and harmony of our state and improved life for the people”.
Addaji urged” politicians not to allow external bodies and influences like the NASS and National officers of the APC get the better part of them against their people and state. They should put the interest of the state above all other, because all the so called political leaders at the National level have their own states that are more developed than Bauchi and living in Peace, while they strive to create disaffection and chaos in ours”.
