The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim’s Commission (NCPC) has enjoined its first batch of pilgrims to Israel to be of good disposition and serve well as ambassadors of Nigeria while in the holy land.
A statement by the head of media and public relations at the commission, Mr. Celestine Ogugua, said the call was made to thepilgrims at the flag off of the 2014 Easter pilgrimage held in Akanu
Ibiam International Airport.
The NCPC helmsman, Mr. John Kennedy Opara was quoted as saying that pilgrimage is a biblical injunction from God as evidenced in Zachariah 8:22; he, therefore, called on the pilgrims to be of good conduct as they answer the call of the creator of mankind. Participants at the flag-off include 184 pilgrims from the state.
Though the inaugural flight of the intending pilgrims was made up of 184 intending pilgrims, the NCPC helmsman stated that a total of 700 intending pilgrims from the state would be airlifted to Israel from the state.
