The Benin monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare II, has played host to Children at the palace ground in Benin City, Edo State Capital, barely two weeks after the 2020 annual Igue Cultural festival Ceremonies.
The monarch who was decked in traditional attire, walked on a red carpet amid cheers by the Children.
He also mingled with his guests on a day filled with personal touch.
Oba Ewuare II who was thrilled by the dance performance by the Children, greeted the Children and thereafter released white pigeons.
The Traditional ruler who was assisted by the sword bearers and the royal flunkeys who opened the cage while he release the birds.
He thereafter prayed for the peace of Nigeria and Edo State before he retired to his inner chamber.
The Children were treated to a sumptuous refreshment while an indigenous musician who rendered melodious tunes which set guests present on the occasion in dancing mood.
Oba Ewuare II, had on Friday last Week, played host to market women, members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Edo State as well as members of the Benin Royal families.
The gesture was in fulfilment to his earlier pledge to host journalists at a Media parley.
