Speculation in Bauchi state over Boko Haram threats to attack higher institutions of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi and AD Rufa’i College for Legal and Islamic Studies Misau yesterday caused panic among staff and students of the two institutions. It was gathered that notice of threats to attack the two institutions separately were pasted on walls in the two institutions and as a result, some students left the schools for fear of the unknown.
Our correspondent who visited the Abubakar Tatari Polytechnic in Bauchi metropolis however reports that some students were seen attending evening lectures.
However, some lecturers and students of the two institutions said they have to leave the school to enable the authorities provide adequate security to the institutions.
When contacted, the Rector of the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Dr. Bala Adamu Azare did not deny or confirm the threat but said he just returned from Abuja and had to report to the Ministry of Higher Education.
