The new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State, Ali Bukar Dalori, has dismissed posters linking Governor Babagana Zullum with APC Vice Presidential ambition in 2023.
Dalori said in an interview that he is not aware of any such ambition being expressed by the Governor, adding however that Borno State and the entire northeast will not hesitate to push him forward should the need arise.
Asked to explain posters of the Governor that has flooded major cities and online platforms recently, Dalori said he is not aware of any such ambition of the governor.
“No, no, no, he doesn’t have any ambition for that. He has no such ambition. But if they say they want him, that is another issue. If they say they want him, we will support him for 2023. On his own, he has no such ambition”, he said.
He also expressed hope that Mai Mala Buni- led APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) will release the timetable for the party’s National Convention as early as this week, saying that there are indication to that.
With the the Congresses concluded in all the states, the immediate past Chairman of APC Forum of Chairmen expressed confidence the coming convention will come out successful despite the reported controversies in some zones .
He said the north east zone of APC would be going to the Convention with one voice but that zone would not be insiting on any position adding “we will accept whatever position the party allots to us”.
“I can assure you that the entire zone, North East APC, we are going with one voice. On the position the zone is looking for in the coming convention,
for now I will not discuss this issue, for now, we will wait for the party to take decision to Zone positions. We will accept any position the party zone to us”.
