The management of Bayero University Kano (BUK), recently organized a grand reception for the president of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Engr. Aliyu A. Rabiu, for his exceptional and leadership quality at the University Senate Chamber.
The Vice Chancellor of BUK,Prof. Muhammad Bello,said that honoring
Engr. Aliyu Rabiu, COREN President, was due to his quality leadership over time. “When we heard that he was elected as the council’s president, We felt that as an Alumnus of BUK, it was necessary to honour him.
According to him, the COREN President had made the University proud in view of his sterling contributions to engineering profession in particular and national development in general. “You are a true and good ambassador of this University and we wish you a successful tenure.
On his part, COREN President said he was overwhelmed by the infrastructural development of the university in the last twenty years, and other ones I had seen. I am really proud to be associated with BUK,” he declared.
Engr. Rabiu advised Nigerian Universities to concentrate on programmes relevant to their environment especially in the area of science,technology and innovation.
He reaffirmed his commitment in ensuring standards and quality in engineering program across the nations’ tertiary institutions.
