CAN rejects call for Edo SSG’s resignation

A pressure group, Change Advocate of Nigeria, CAN, has rejected call for the resignation of the Secretary to Edo State Government, Mr Osarodion Ogie.
A grunted group from Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the State under the rubric of APC Libration Movement, last week, passed ‘vote of no confidence on Ogie, accusing him anti-party activities.
On Monday, the National Coordinator of CAN, Comrade Osareniye Ikponmwonba, condemned the move inna statement on behalf of the body.
Osareniye, warned those engaged in act capable of plugging the party into crisis to refrain and chose developmental stride of governor Obaseki.
The statement reads in part: “We the change Advocates of Nigeria,a foremost advocacy and support group of APC, condemn in strong terms, the call by unofficial and infant group for the resignation of osarodion ogie as leader of Ikpoba Okha LGA to desist from such forthwith”.
It stressed that the “distraction is uncalled for in a time like this in Edo State where the Executive Governor, his deputy,SSG and Chief of Staff are working purposefully in a cordial relationship to reposition the State as the economic hub of Southern Nigeria.
He cautioned against what he described as lonely voices in the LGA polity, adding that “we pass a vote of confidence on Osarodion ogie as the indefatigable leader, humble with great disposition.
