From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna
Women of the Kaduna Anglican Diocese yesterday took time out in their ongoing annual women conference holding in Jakaranda Chikun local government area of Kaduna State to engage in prayers for the unconditional release of the Chibok school girls by their abductors.
The women who were dressed in red attires shortly after an intensive prayer session for the release of the girls, peace and stability of the nation and against all forms of terrorism in the country, displayed placards and chanted songs such as “all we are saying, give us our girls, Satan you are a liar, forward ever backward never.”
Speaking to newsmen shortly after, the President Women’s guide and Mothers Union Kaduna Anglican diocese Mrs. Comfort Idowu- Fearon described the abduction of the girls not only as an outrage against Nigeria as a nation but also unprecedented outrage globally.
According to her, “the emotional and psychological trauma of the girl’s abduction has been a harrowing experience to all.
“We hereby call on the captors of these girls to unconditionally release them to their parents and their homes, and we pray that God in His infinite mercy comfort Nigeria and Nigerians at this trying moment.”
