The Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh, has called on leaders both at the federal and state levels to decongest the correctional facilities in Nigeria, in the spirit of Christmas.
In his homely message to Nigerians at Christmas yesterday in Abuja, the Primate also urged citizens to do good to each other in this season.
The clergyman decried the pitiable situations in most of the country’s correctional facilities, saying the inhuman treatments melted on those at such facilities calls for attention adding that police cell is not left out.
The primate who noted that policies of government in Nigeria can be raised above present condition, advised leadership at all levels that any government policy that cannot make help the poor should be refocused to help the needy.
Archbishop Okoh equally urged federal government to reposition the health and education sectors to reclaimed it lost glory.
The Senior pastor All Christ’s Fellowship, Maitama Abuja, Reverend Felix Okoye said the essence of Christmas is offering the solution to various problems in Nigeria.
He charged leaders to stop amassing wealth at the expense of the downtrodden in the society.
He also charged Christian faithful and other people of all faithsto be their brothers keepers, in order to move the society forward.
