Kwara State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed the nomination of all its State executive who were unopposed atbthe state congress held at the weelend.
at the state congress held at the Banquet Hall, opposite Government House, Ilorin, former Interim Chairman of Caretaker Committee of APC, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani and the former Interim Secretary of the party, Prince Yemi Afolayan, retained their positions.
Similarly, the former State Chairman of CPC, who served as Interim Publicity Secretary of APC was also elected unopposed. Other 23 state executives were also elected unopposed by 1,500 delegates from 16 local government areas of the state which was supervised by APC national congress committee led by Alhaji Yunus Akintunde and INEC representative.
The Congress was attended by Interim National Publicity Secretary of APC,Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Senator Muhammed Lafiagi, all representatives of Kwara State at the House of Representatives, State Executive members as well as INEC observers.
In his remark after the election, Senator Bukola Saraki said any party that can not conduct peaceful ward and state congresses can not run peaceful government.
He warned the people of Kwara State against the Abuja politicians who are in the state to deceive them with “promising projects”. “Abuja can not take over Kwara state. Abuja is busy with Abuja problems. Only the people of Kwara State can run Kwara.”
