The Zamfara State chapter of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has conducted ward congresses across the 147 wards of the 14 local government areas of the state.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the exercise in Gusau the state capital, the State Chairman of the PDP, Col. Bala Mande (rtd), said the congresses were conducted peacefully across the state through adoption of concensus method.
Mande, who explained that, the congresses were conducted under the supervision of the committee assigned by the national headquarters of the PDP which was led by Sunday Dogo as Chairman and the monitoring officers of the INEC.
He stressed that, the peaceful conduct of the statewide ward congresses was an indication the popularity of the PDP is still intact in the state, assuring that it is capable of even sweeping all the 2023 elections.
The Chairman further commended all security agencies, state INEC officials that represented the REC, who contributed to the success of the congresses, assuring that the teeming members of the PDP will remain law-abiding citizens.
