Yoruba leader (Otunba) of Yoruba community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Wasiu Tunwase, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari did not want Nigerians to die that was why he gave stay- at – home order to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
Tunwase, who stated this while speaking with newsmen after the Eid-Kabir celebration in Zuba, saying that he was delighted the manner at which Buhari was tackling the problem of COVID – 19 in Nigeria.
His words: “President Muhammadu Buhari is trying his best to see that the issue of coronavirus is put to rest n our country. Infact, Buhari is trying his best to arrest the problem of COVID-19 in our dear country in the interest of Nigerians”.
On Sallah Message, he appealed to Nigerian leaders and Muslim associations to assist the less privileged ones to make them happy during the celebration.
He, however, called on both Muslims and Christians to live in peace always, describing Islam as a religion of peace not violence, while urging Muslim youth to desist from overdrinking during the Sallah celebration.
Otunba advised Yoruba people to always live in peace in anywhere they found themselves, and warned them to shun violence.
