Delta State Police Command on Tuesday confirmed that forty six vehicles were in the early hours impounded in Ubulu Uku Community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, disclosing that thirty eight suspected cultists were arrested
Police Commissioner in the State, Mr Ari Muhammad Ali who spoke to Journalists in Asaba said that the suspects were arrested based on intelligence gathering.
He added that the vehicles were abandoned by the Suspects for during which they were assembled for initiation rites inside the forest of Ubulu Uku Community where the Anti Cultism Policemen closed on them.
Sources said that the Cultists were caught unaware by the Anti Cultism Policemen inside the forest where they assembled flashy vehicles and were about starting initiation when they armed policemen closed on them to deflect their tyres
According to the police boss” The Anti Cultism Policemen closed on them and shot at the vehicles’ tyres and unfortunately for them thirty eight of them were arrested other fled the scene and as I speak with you the vehicles are all parked at Ogwashi Uku Police Station for further investigation”
Meawhile, the police have intensified efforts with a view to arresting those causing troubles in Ogwashi Uku Kingdom.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Edafe Bright said that the police reports indicated that some persons were creating troubles in the Community with a view to ensuring crisis, adding that the police will arrest anyone who makes trouble in the community.
