In a letter sent to the NFF and made available to newsmen, Edema notified the nation’s football body over clandestine move to usurp him as the DFA chairman and moves by cabals within the Delta State Sports Commission to install the DFA Secretary in his stead and called on the NFF to intervene and save the ugly situation in the state. The letter addressed to the NFF Secretary-General reads: “This is to inform you that more infractions is taking place in the Delta State FA. Consequent on the NFF’s directive for all state FA’s to call a board meeting and congress to fix a date for their elections between 28th May and 30th June 2019, I as Acting Chairman of DFA sent a message as usual to Mr. Azuka Ogosi the DFA secretary to disseminate to board members which he refused to do on the grounds that he was advised by his bosses at the Delta State Sports Commission not to send the message. “This is a flagrant disregard to Association rules and guidelines. He has rather sent a text message to me inviting me as a delegate to a congress called by him. “Truth is the Secretary has been boxed into a corner by reason of his being a staff of the sports commission. I have also advised him to retrace his steps or step aside if he has a conflict of duties as Sports commission staff and FA secretary. “I implore you to use your good office to advise them on the futility of going against procedures and Football Association regulations,” the letter read.READ MORE FG, Bayelsa Govt.
