The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has disclosed that its 2014 Christian Pilgrimage will be flagged off on the 1st of March 2014 by the deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
A statement by the head of media and public relations of the NCPC, Mr. Celestine Ogugua said the date for the flag of the pilgrimage which is scheduled to hold at the Nkanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu was disclosed by the executive secretary of the commission recently in Abuja.
The NCPC helms man further disclosed that a total of 800 pilgrims would be airlifted from the Zone and twelve states will be participating at this year’s Easter pilgrimage exercise.
“The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is poised to ensure that intending Pilgrims to the Holy land experience the awesome power of resurrection and a hitch free pilgrimage operations this year”, the statement said.
In a related development, the Executive Secretary of the commission, Mr John Kennedy Opara described the sudden demise of late Senator Isaiah Balat as “shocking and devastating’’.
Mr. Opara further described late Senator Balat as a “devout Christian, God fearing and detribalized Nigerian who had contributed in no small measure to the political development of the country.”
