Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi has said that the general economic recession in the country is the root cause of the various security challenges bedevilling the country.
He made the assertion while speaking during the first annual Muhammadu Sanusi II colloquium in Kaduna recently.
Sanusi who was the Khalifa of Tijjaniyya sect in Nigeria, said 70% of insecurity problems in the country such as banditry, herders -farmer clash, kiddnaping and others have their root in the economy.
