Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed says since the inception of the Accelerated Area Council and Sectional Title Re-Issuance Scheme (AACTRIS) two years ago, over 6,000 land applications have been cleared.
He, added 518 mass housing applications have been processed while 1,118 applications have been cleared, awaiting Certificates of Occupancy( C-of-O) for re-issue of their titles.
Peoples Daily reports that AACTRIS is an initiative of the FCTA that is aimed at processing the backlog of applications for the issuance of C-of-O for Area Councils, Mass housing estates and multi-dwelling housing units in the Territory.
According to him, over N520 million have been realized as revenue within the two years period.
Speaking at the commissioning of new Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) upgraded systems Infrastructure, the minister also revealed that he recently approved the allocation of over 3,000 plots across the six Area Councils, which were earlier recommended by the respective Area Councils’ Chairmen.
