He said the gesture was to ensure that the various security agencieshave capacity, to be able to move quickly and then intercept any form of breakdown of law and order.
“We give them brand new vehicles, not tokubo vehicles, to make sure that at least their lifespan are extended, and that they have a very robust plan for maintenance.
“We are the only jurisdiction that ensures that every month we give some support to the police, and we can see that they are maintaining their operational vehicles.
“Because here it is not about combating criminality or maintaining law and order, but it is a Metropolitan management system that is multi-dimensional.
“In fact we are even going to give them more than this number of vehicles for convert operations, so that they can be working without the public knowing.
“Also, so that they would be able to delineate and segregate all the parts of the Territory, in such a manner that there would be surveillance, that will be monitoring and feedback of information,” he added.
Responding on behalf of other security agencies, the news FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, appreciated the kind gesture of the FCT Minister; saying that the Minister and the FCT Police Command are on the same page, with others, particularly in fighting crime and criminalities.
Mr. Mbu warmed that Abuja is not for criminals and law breakers; adding that they should immediately move out of Abuja because they wouldn’t not have any hiding place in the entire Terriroty.
