As part its reinvigorated move to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has intensified capacity training for its senior level staff to enable it achieve the critical objectives of the administration.
Our correspondent reports that the crop of staff nominated for the training, to represent the management cadre of the administration included directors, deputy directors, as well as other senior staff of the administration.
Also, it was learnt that the initiative was envisaged to set in place a process that would facilitate the emergence of complete and efficient leaders in the administration.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training in Abuja, the managing director/chief executive officer of an ICT and service consultancy firm, Khairu Technologies Limited, Engr. Nuruddeen Hammanyero noted that the capacity building and career development is also in tandem with the federal government’s desire to empower leaders at different levels of governance for efficient service delivery.
Hammanyero, who stressed the need for regular training of staff of the human resource department which, in turn would manage the administration’s workforce, said that leadership is important and key to the attainment of any organisational goal, because it sets and clarifies vision, provides guidance and manages change process.
According to him, “The honourable minister of FCT has deemed it necessary to empower members of the management team with crucial leadership skills, as well as guidance on their careers.
“This initiative, in partnership with Khairu Technologies Limited portends a new era of human capacity development in the FCTA.”
On his part, one of the participants at the training, Mr. Daniel Salka noted that the training would boost the capacity of staff of the administration, and as well impact on the leadership of the administration.
