The on-going strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ASUP has made all Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria lose one session.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Dr Shu’aibu Musa disclosed this yesterday at the end of a meeting of the governing Council of the institution in Bauchi.
Dr Musa said the council of the head of Polytechnics met with the national leadership of ASUP in Okoh in Anambra state and they agreed to shift grounds if the Federal government will do same. The federal Government he revealed is also ready to shift ground.
In his remark The Chairman of the Governing Council Alhaji Adamu Ahmed Abdulkadir said the councils of chairmen of governing councils are working tirelessly to see to the end of strike within shortest possible time.
Alhaji Adamu said ASUP had agreed if the Federal Government will address the critical issues.
He said they are putting head together with the Government to address the dichotomy of HND and degree in order to have a harmonise system.
The chairman assured that all the governing council of Federal Polytechnic in the country are looking in to the nitty gritty of the lingering strike and come up with the way forward.
