Residents of Nasarawa, Toto Local Government Councils in Nasarawa State and motorist have commended the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) at the state and federal levels for the ongoing rehabilitation of federal roads in Nasarawa State that were in a dilapidated condition in the recent time.
Out reporter on a visit to the ongoing road rehabilitation on the busy Keffi, Nasarawa and Toto federal road that links to Abaji and Lokoja road recently had an interview with some residents in Gadabuke, Nakuse, Loko Goma, Yelwa and Toto town on the new development that brought the road back to live where transport activities have resumed fully in the areas.
Speaking with a commercial driver, Mallam Zubairu Adamu said that “we must commend the FERMA at the federal and state levels for their bulk steps embarked upon towards the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Keffi, Nasarawa, Toto and Abaji road which has caused serious difficulties to motorists plying in the past”.
According to him, “we the entire people of Keffi, Nasarawa and Toto Local Government Areas must say kudos to the FERMA Boss in Nasarawa State for taken into cognisance the rehabilitation of our road. Prior to the rehabilitation. We as drivers and other road users suffered a lot because of the potholes cut across the road. But today with the current rehabilitation of the road by FERMA, we road users now have course to smile. Transportation is easier for us. We don’t encounter difficulties again. I congratulate FERMA for their giant stride in resuscitating our major roads in the state.
Contributing to the development, a farmer Mr. Rabo Dauda of Yelwa Toto opined that, with the rehabilitation of Keffi-Toto road by FERMA is a welcome development. We appreciate the swift action adopted by the agency towards bringing our road to normalcy. We farmers can convey our farm produce without difficulties to the market. We suffered years back. I call on the authority FERMA to continue with the gesture across our major roads in the country.
Also in an interview with a commercial driver Mr. Peter Bako who ply along Lafia-Shendam road added that FERMA in the state have done a lot and are doing a wonderful rehabilitation work along Lafia-Shendam road.
His words “I want to express my profound appreciation to FERMA in Nasarawa and at the Federal level we never thought that Lafia-Shendam road would be considered for rehabilitation. Today we are seeing a pragmatic rehabilitation of the abandoned road. Kudos to FERMA. I want to appeal that FERMA should extend the work to other major roads in the state and the country as a whole so that motorists can ply without difficulties.”
