The Chairman of Ankpa Local government chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu has urged the federal government to restructure Ankpa light from the Geregu plan or any plant that will make the council have a steady power supply for at least,18 hours per day.
Abagwu, made this appeal in his office, yesterday when he received the delegates from the headquarter of Federal ministry of power, Abuja.
Abagwu, how was represented by the council Secretary of the council,Hon.Idris Ray Akus,
said , “According to the information collected, Ankpa is currently generating power from Oturkpo local government area of Benue State, but they hardly supply power to Ankpa and this has results black out for months,if not years”.
“True, Ankpa is suffering from shortage of power supply, and you know a cosmopolitan area like Ankpa needs power for business to strive effectively. Again, lots of electrical poles are at fault, and there are plenty villages that do not even have transformers.
“ We are seeking the intervention of Federal Ministry of Power to help in providing concrete poles and transformers,”he appealed.
