Senior Minister of Assemblies of God Church in Kaduna, Reverend Paul C. Adim has tasked delegates of the forthcoming National Conference to deliberate seriously on issues destroying family values and ways of ending insurgency in order to save Nigeria from collapse.
Reverend Adim identified the problem of fatherlessness resulting from poor family values as a major factor responsible for the Boko Haram insurgency holding the nation hostage.
Speaking while addressing the press on the church’s forthcoming 8th Over-comers’ Rendezvous, Rev. Adim said, lots of the children who engage in negative acts were influenced because they lacked fatherly love and control were they were young.
According to him, “the problem that the world is facing and Nigeria in particular is the problem of fatherlessness. Lots of our children don’t have fatherly control over them.
“When you see most of our children on the street you will really wonder whether they have fathers. Do they have someone who cares about their where about? And you will discover the problem we are having is caused by the fact that there is no one who will counsel them. So it is one of the major problems we have identified”, he said.
Meanwhile, the senior minister also said that the convention scheduled for March 16-23, 2014, would pray for continuous and peaceful coexistence of the nation ahead of the 2015 general elections.
