As part of activities to mark the 7th anniversary of Daniel Nzelu’s Foundation, the Foundation recently celebrated with orphans in different orphanage homes within the Federal Capital Territory, during which it doled out food items and toiletries worth thousands of naira.
Some of the homes visited by the Foundation included the Heritage Home located in Gwanripa, Gisheri Home in Maintama and Kings and Princess Orphanage located in Lokogoma.
Specifically, the Foundation said three orphanage homes have been identified in the nation’s capital in its reach-out programme, noting that assorted food items were distributed to the less privileged in the society.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Chairperson, Dame Chinelo Nzelu disclosed that the Foundation would soon embark on educational programme where scholarship would be awarded to some selected orphans on the recommendation of the board.
“Besides reaching out to orphans, we are also planning to come up with our educational programme where scholarship would be awarded to orphans in different homes. The board of trustee will soon come up with the modalities of our scholarship scheme,” Nzelu stressed.
Nzelu added that this year’s anniversary of the Foundation coincided with her 60th birthday celebration, pointing out that it would be a double celebration for the Foundation.
