Yobe state Governor, Alh Ibrahim Gaidam has yesterday handed over keys of 80 housing units allocated to lecturers of the state university and medical doctors under the ministry of health.
He performed the handing over while on inspection visit to the housing estate along Gujba Maiduguri bypass road in Damaturu.
Out of the number, the state government has allocated 40 units of houses, 20 each to the lecturers of the state university and medical doctor under the state ministry of health.
The houses were provided with the state of the art facilities such as installation of electrical fittings, interior decorations in addition to furnishing, generating sets to ensure constant power supply, underground water reservoir , roads and drainages, as well as landscaping.
Gaidam who was impressed with the quality and standard of work said this was done in order to give a befitting accommodation for lecturers and medical doctors working in institutions in the state.
“I am happy to say that the projects have been completed to my test, and the furnishing has been sturdily done,” he said.
Gaidam has therefore urged for continuous maintenance of the structure around.
The governor also visited the General Sani Abacha state specialist hospital Damaturu where he inspected some completed housing units meant to accommodate medical doctors working in the institution.
