The wife of Gombe state governor, Hajiya Adama Dankwambo said the present administration will not relent in assisting women to enable them be self-reliance in their day to day activities in the state.
Hajiya Dankwambo who stated this yesterday in Gombe while disbursing funds to women under her pet programme explained that her office was able to empowered 2,218 women group in Gombe inorder to enable them free from poverty in the society.
Represented by the wife of the deputy governor Mrs. Sintiki Jason Rubainu, the governor’s wife said 200 women were recently trained in skill acquisition programme which she said has made a remarkable impact for the development of the state.
She said the ram fattening business proposed by the state government will help to boost the morale of women who had no direct bearing in their homes.
She said 2,218 women group will benefit the gesture in the state and added that the state government had made frantic effort to ensure that each of them gets N30, 000 for the business.
Speaking at the event, the Gombe state commissioner of Agriculture, Alhaji Dahiru Buba Biri appreciated the effort of the governor’s wife and called on beneficiaries to use the money given to them judiciously.
