The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has sworn-in sixteen Commissioners and two Permanent Secretaries to join him in directing the affairs of the state.
Governor Ahmed who swore in the new Commissioners on Thursday, warned the new cabinet members to be transparent and accountable to the people.
The Governor enjoined them to roll up their sleeves and get to work immediately to make ‘Shared Prosperity’, more meaningful to the people.
“You must key-in to the programme to re-assure the people about our commitment to building better schools and hospitals, more road, energy and portable water projects while stimulating economic activities to put more money in their pockets.
“You must also be mindful that in line with Performance Contracting, we will appraise your performance on a regular basis to ensure compliance with set targets.
“Let me also warn that here in Kwara State, Governance is not business as usual. Openness, accountability, prudence and diligence must therefore guide your conduct in this new assignment. While I acknowledge that we are in a season of active politicking, this should not detract from high performance”. The governor said.
