Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has approved the appointment of Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu as the 13th Emir of Agaie, following the death of the late Emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Kudu Abubakar III on March 30th 2014.
Nuhu’s appointment was conveyed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Saidu Ndako Idris Kpaki, who said Nuhu’s appointment followed majority decision of the kingmakers of the emirate on April 5th 2014.
Nuhu was amongst the 13 contestants from the Suleimanu ruling house who indicated interest for the vacant position. He polled three votes to beat two other opponents, Alhaji Nuhu Attahiru Nkochi and Alhaji Mohammed Tsadu Kawu who polled two votes each.
Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu was until his appointment the Nagenu of Agaie and the District Head of Goyiko.
Nuhu is married and blessed with children and he is a member of the association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
The statement called on stakeholders and the good people Agaie Emirate to give the new Emir all the necessary support.
