In view of the economic challenges due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on Tuesday signed into law a total sum of N62.9 billion after it was scrutinized and accepted by the state House of Assembly.
Signing the budget when it was presented to him at the government house by the Speaker Abdullahi Balarabe, the Governor said that the revised budget is aimed at meeting up with the global reality as well as to provide the needed social amenities to the good people of the state.
According to him “Despite the economic challenges, the Government will continue to provide Social Services such as Roads, Hospital, Water, Electricity to the citizens. We will continue to provide all needed facilities to combat Covid 19 and other ailments in our health facilities in the state”.
“This budget is tagged Budget of Inclusiveness. We will run it with prudency, accountability and transparently in order to provide welfare, health projects and infrastructures to our beloved people”
He continued “The budget is aimed at addressing Hazards allowances to our medical personnel, equipping our established quarantine centres, improve agriculture and provide soft loans to stimulate the growth and development of our people especially in the areas of Roads.
Governor Sule commended the leadership of the Assembly and its members for giving a speedy passage of the budget; calling for continued cordiality between the executive and the legislature at all times. He however implored citizens of the state to give maximum support to his administration to succeed.
Speaking during the presentation, the speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Right Honorable Abdullahi Balarabe said that because of the significant of the budget to the people of Nasarawa State, all members accorded the budget a top most priority by swiftly deliberated as well as gave it a speedy passage; adding that the budget went through the legislative processes before consideration.
He further applauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for his vision and the good intention he has for the people of the state in transforming their lives in all spheres of human existence.
