Group accuses Inuwa of supporting Atiku 2023 presidential election

The group of youth in Gombe State of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the state governor, Yahaya Inuwa of supporting the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party,Alhaji Abubakar Atiku during general election.

Recalled that Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-rufai said , We were worried when Tinubu came second in Gombe State” when Gov. Inuwa who was with the Tinubu campaign coordinator for the Northeast could only deliver himself but not his presidential candidate would have amounted to anti-party.

The spokesperson of the group,Salisu Abdulrazaq in a statement issued and shared with Journalists in Abuja alleged that Governor support his Northeast brother,Atiku.

He explained that why Inuwa could loss his polling unit to Atiku and the following weeks Inuwa won not only his polling unit but that of his closest rival, Jibrin Barde of the PDP as well as the entire state.

He said ,”Losing his polling unit to Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) speaks millions of questions as to how he was able to mobilise resources and support to return to power with a landslide victory winning nine LGAs out of the 11 in the state, yet he could not deliver his party’s presidential candidate in a state that APC enjoins good support.

He said “Inuwa could win the polling unit of Barde speaks volume to the amount of resources that went into the elections for his re-elections.

The statement partly read “The recent disciplinary measure taken against Sen. Goje for allegations of his involvement in anti-party activities was anchored on the fact that the Senator lost his polling unit, hence he was summoned to come and explain how?

” In view of the manner that Kashere Ward served “disciplinary measure” to Goje, it is only fair to also serve Inuwa same measures by the national headquarters of the APC for failing to deliver his polling unit to Tinubu rather served the votes in a beautiful tea cup to Atiku.

“If what is good for the goose is still good for the gander, then Inuwa does not deserved to be in the APC too, but you know it is he who pays the piper that dictates its tune, hence his ward would blindly not see the need to suspend Inuwa because the governor is the party leader in the state who only cares about his re-election and nothing more.

The statement further explains why the APC lost two out of the three senatorial seats in the state to the PDP. But for the love of the people for Sen. Goje, he would have lost his bid to return to the senate like Sen. Saidu Alkali and Sen. Bulus K. Amos. Goje won his return ticket without campaign, first of its kind in the political history of the state.

“Hence, Gov. Inuwa has Goje to thank for not having a state ruled by APC but has all its senators from the PDP but what does Goje gets, expulsion and intimidation, yet the Governor is said to be the leader and father of the party.

“Governor Inuwa galvanized APC to win 20 out of the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly, yes it is true but the love of a man towards the chicken is obvious especially at a time when governors need a “Yes Sir” House of Assembly to approve frivolous loan requests .

His model of politics is styled on self and if the means will not serve his interest he will care less and allow those concerned to “fight” their fight.

“Those that were in Gombe during the just concluded elections in the state would bear witness to the high tension desperation exhibited by Governor Inuwa few days to the Governorship election as against the relaxed state he showed during the Presidential election in the state.

The state APC didn’t spend enough to ensure Tinubu’s victory in a state where President Muhammadu Buhari polled 402,961 votes to defeat his challenger, Atiku Abubakar who polled 138, 481 votes during the 2019 elections.

After the elections, the APC in Gombe State, of course under the influence of the Gov. Inuwa engineered a diversionary measure to shift attention from the anti-party activities allegedly carried out by the governor through the suspension and expulsion of top APC bigwigs in the state for reasons that are more witch-hunting in nature than genuine.

” It is in recognition of this that the APC at the national level dismissed the expulsion of Sen. Goje. All these are part of the desperation of Gov. Inuwa to cover his political injustice to the president-elect Sen. Tinubu.

“This is why in spite of the court order retraining the party from taking action against Sen. Goje, all caution was thrown to the winds,”the statement read.
