The Emir of Gwandu and the Chairman Kebbi State Traditional Council,Iliyasu El-Bashari has called on the Muslim youths to distance themselves from some mallams and islamic preachers who would lead them into the wrong ways and make them to be among the political thugs, drug hades and menace in the society.
The monarch, who gave this charge yesterday in his palace when the members of Congress for Change and Development paid him a courtesy visit on their activities, added that youths should look for knowledge in both western and Islamic education but not the one they would used to kill innocent souls.
He said that people should be aware that there in no religion that preaches violence rather, preaches peace, unity and progress, urged them to be self employed and not to allow any political leader to mislead them to be political thugs in their various communities.
“I salute you people’s courage by establishing this youth association and went round the 21 local government areas and educated people, most especially the youth on what is good for them to do and what is bad for them to avoid” he said.
He then admonished the youth to be careful with the politician as the political campaigns are around the corner and also the parents to be cautious of their children by giving them close marking.
Speaking earlier , the chairman of the Association and the leader of the team, Comrade Ibrhaim Ahmed Bashir thanked the Emir for his fatherly advice, usually given to them in the society, adding that their aim is to educate the youth on the importance of been a self employed in the society and education.
“We went round the 21 local governments of the state and we saw some youths that were being used by politicians, unemployed, traders and students.”
He then appealed to his royal highness to use his palace and collaborate with the government and some traditional title holders to help them combat this menace in the society.
