The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr. Boss Mustapha has explained that the reconciliation committee set up by the National body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be the best solution to solve the crisis bedeviling the party.
Mustapha stated this at the opening ceremony of a two-day APC North East Zonal meeting held at the Government House Bauchi.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who was represented by the Director General, National Orientation Agency Dr, Garba Abare, said the setting up of the committee came at a right time when the 2019 general elections is approaching.
Mustapha said there was the need for all members of the party to leave their differences and unite under one umbrella for the success of the party during the forthcoming general elections in the country.
Governor Muhammad AbdullahiAbubakar said the meeting would go a long way towards tackling all the problems bedeviling the party, and called on those who have lost during the recent primary elections to cooperate and work in close collaboration with others for the growth and development of their various States.
Governor Muhammed Abubakar, therefore, called on all people of the North East and the entire nation to do their best to ensure the success of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC in general during the 2019 general elections.
The APC North East Zonal Vice Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Salisu, described the meeting as an avenue that would enable all members of the party to share ideas on how to win the election during the 2019 general elections in the country.
In his remarks, the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shetima , said, during the 2019 general elections, the entire people of the North East and other States of the Federation would vote for APC, considering the number of developmental projects executed by APC administration in all nook and crannies of the country.
Others who spoke at the occasion include, the Adamawa State Governor, Senator Bindow Umar Jibrila, Senate majority leader Ahmed Lawal and former Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda. They all spoke on the good qualities of President Muhammad Buhari; and called on the people of the country to support and ensure the success of APC during the forthcoming general elections in the country.
