The Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), in charge of the Northwest region, Emmanuel Kachi Udeoji, has described the effort of restoring peace in Nigeria is collective one that requires the contribution of all and sundry.
Udeoji, who made the statement during a meeting with stakeholders, as part of Operational Supervision of Kano State Police Command, at the Police Officers Mess in Kano yesterday, stated that fighting insecurity is the collective commitment between the security agents and the civilians.
“ The fact that we are Police professionals, we need your support and cooperation as citizens of Kano State in order to achieve maximum security in the state. You are in all nook and crannies of the state and you are ‘an ear to the ground’, through you we will be able to hear whatever intelligent information we need within Kano State. That is why I have called this meeting with you to rob mind together, to seek your understanding and cooperation towards assisting our men to protect and serve you better.” He stated.
The Deputy Inspector General also lamented the spate of bomb blast and incessant killings of innocent citizens in the country, stressing that the civilians must participate in the fight against insecurity.
“We need cooperation of everybody, All hands must be on deck in the effort to secure our country, Nigeria”, he said.
He also called on the citizens to exercise their responsibility as citizens to provide information of any suspicious movement or persons to the nearest police station or call any security agents.
