Kaduna State Gubernatorial Aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji Sani Mohammad Sha’aban has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the party’s delegates congresses in the state.
According to him, there was no Congress held across the 23 local Government Areas of the state contrary to the report by the Party’s Appeal Committee on Saturday that said the delegates Congresses were successful.
The Appeal Committee headed by Mrs Tinuke Gbadejo Ogunrinde had on Saturday told journalists at the State Secretariat of the Party that, the congresses were held and they were hitch-free, as no petition was received before, during and after the congresses.
According to Mrs Ogunrinde, 1,275 delegates were elected to local government and state respectively, while 69 national delegates were unanimously elected.
However, addressing the journalists through his Campaign Organization Director-General Barrister Joshua Danladi Ephraim, Sha’aban described the APC delegates Congress Appeal Committee report as misleading and erroneous.
According to him, his campaign organisation submitted their petition to the committee over the purported delegate congresses but was not collected.
