Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has revealed that arrangements have been concluded for construction of 400-bed hospitals in each of the five emirates of the state.
The governor, on 8th May this year, assented to the bill for creation of four additional first class emirates, namely; Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano.
However, on Monday, at the Hawan Kutifi, a cultural durbar organised by Karaye emirate council on Monday, Ganduje said the sole aim of providing the health facilities is to bring effective health delivery services more closer to the people in the communities.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, also disclosed that plans are underway by his administration to execute more developmental projects within the five Emirates in the State for the benefit of its teeming populace.
He said the new Emirates were created purposely to bring about progress to the socio-economic life of the people in the state, adding that a lot of changes and development, in terms of unity and progress among the eight local government areas that fall under the Karaye emirate had been witnessed.

Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ganduje therefore charged the eight Local Government Areas under the Emirate to give their maximum support and ensure full participation in the Emirate’s activities to ensure speedy development of their respective communities.
Ganduje was quoted as saying; “ I urge all the local government areas under the Emirate to make good arrangements that would restore the good image of the Emirate in the interest of speedy development.
“I thanked all the District Heads under Karaye Emirate who attended the traditional Hawan Kutifi and called on them to continue to cooperate with the Emirate and give their maximum contributions to the development of the affected areas.
“ I want to once again state that the present administration will not tolarate any act of sabotage that will undermine the progress of the new emirates which are meant to about progress of our dear State “ he warned.
In his speech, the Emir of Karaye, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Il thanked Almighty Allah for making the Muslim Ummah to witness the celebration of the Eid Kabir and prayed for continuous peace and stability in Kano and Nation at large.
“ Karaye Emirate upgrades its Sallah Durbah due to the promotion of the Emirate to a first class position by His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and I want to inform this gathering that Karaye Emirate has a long history of over 400 years with a total number of 37 Emirs including myself “ he reveals
Dr. Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for restoring the old glory and status of Karaye Emirate which had been enjoiyed by their fore farthers.
“ I want to use this opprtunities to thank the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for approving the law passed by the Members Kano State House of Assembly which has made this Emirate one of the first class Emirate “ the Emir said.
He further assured the State Government that the four Emirates would be ready to work hand in hand with Stakeholders on all aspects of human endeavour to ensure the development of the State and country at large.
“ I equally want to use this opportunity to appeal to Kano State Government to complete the road project that starts from Kano-Rimin Gado-Kabo-Karaye in view of its Strategic importance to the people leaving around those areas “ said the statement.
