Speaker of Katsina State House of assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Maigari Zango has awarded scholarship to 1292 students of post-secondary school students in his Zango local government constituency.
The speaker issued the award over the weekend at a ceremony organized for the formal handing over of the award to the beneficiaries.
Zango stated that it was only through education that society can develop, adding that developed world were able to reach that height through education.
He however stressed that he will continue to do all within his means to support students in his constituency to achieve the dream of acquiring Western education.
Zango similarly commended the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for giving priority to education since his assumption of office in 2015.
Speaker at the ceremony, Governor Aminu Bello Masari stressed that it was the responsibility of parents to endure that their children receive quality education.
Masari added that the role of government is to provide conducive environment for learning and scholarship, assuring that government will continue to invest in education.
