The Department of Employment and Special Intervention in Katsina state has embarked on creation of database of existing entrepreneurs with a view to consider those eligible for participation in various empowerment programmes across the state.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, the Special Adviser of the department made this assertion while speaking with newsmen shortly after monitoring the ongoing physical verification exercise of formal and informal enterprises in Katsina.
Nasir who expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the exercise in Daura senatorial zone, also commended the applicants over the maturity exhibited, calling on them to cooperate with the department officials to ensure the success of the exercise.
According to him, the state government has introduced a lot of empowerment programmes aimed at making people more relevant and productive in the society.
While affirming the commitment of Governor Masari led administration to continue to assist small and medium enterprises for economic development of the state, Nasir revealed that, the administration has spent over two billion naira in improving the various empowerment programmes in state.
