The Kebbi state government has said, on Tuesday, it would computerise land administration to end multiple land allocation and racketeering in the state.
The Commissioner for Land and Housing, Alhaji Hussaini Raha, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the computerisation would affect land allocation in Birnin Kebbi to ensure that it was in line with the city’s master plan, adding that the exercise would be conducted in phases.
The commissioner said consultants would be engaged for the computerisation programme. “The ministry has presented a memo for executive approval on this plan,” he said.
He assured applicants for land that the new strategy would be strict, lawful and transparent.
On housing, Raha said the ministry, in partnership with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), would soon commence the construction of 2,500 housing units in Argungu, Birnin Kebbi, Yauri and Zuru local government areas.
“The state has spent N2.5billion for the construction of 400 two-bedroom and three-bedroom units in Kalgo and Suru local government areas “, he added. (NAN)
