From Ahmed Idris, Birnin Kebbi
The newly completed Kebbi International Airport, Ambursa has been named Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport.
Speaking to our correspondent in Kebbi, the Special Adviser to Governor Saidu Dakingari on Media and Public Affairs, Ibrahim Musa Argungu said the State Executive Council (SEC) approved the re-naming at its meeting last Wednesday.
“The SEC has unanimously approved the re-naming of the airport as Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport at its meeting last Wednesday.
“The airport was inspected last two weeks by the Federal Ministry of Aviation and it will soon be commissioned upon the completion and installation of the landing lights,” he said
“The multi-billion naira airport landing equipment were successfully calibrated and I must emphasis here that it is the Kebbi Airport that has ever scored a record of 99.8 per cent calibration success. Only Calabar Airport had ever scored as high as 70 per cent in Nigeria,” Argungu said.
