The Kwara state police command has sent out several of its undercover agents to apprehend the growing trend of mob-lynching persons, suspected to be kidnappers.
It was gathered that the police decided to send out the operatives following another lynching of suspected woman kidnapper on Wednesday.
The incident, it was learnt, happened on the Oyun Bridge, at exactly the same spot where a day earlier, another suspect had been summarily killed by a suspicious and angry mob.
The latest incident, according to eyewitnesses, occurred at about 6.30 pm. The suspect was said to have been dragged to a spot on the bridge where she was lynched by the mob.
The killing brought to three the number of suspects to have suffered the brutal fate between last Friday and Wednesday evening.
Two others, according to the police, narrowly escaped being killed due to the timely arrival of security agents on the scene.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said the command was now ready to enforce its earlier warning against the killing of innocent people or persons suspected of being kidnappers.
